Snails on Snowmobile Trails

Oh, the weather outside is frightful (in the teen degrees Fahrenheit),
But woolen layers make it so delightful (and a bright pink coat, too!)
We have all kinds of places to go…
Let is snow, here we go, here we go!

It was -17 degrees when we got up this morning. Earl still wanted to go hiking. I said “Tell me what the temp is at 9 a.m. and I’ll consider it.”

At 9 a.m. it was -7 degrees.

At 10 a.m. it was 3 degrees.

… I said, “When we hit 10 degrees I’ll go.”

We finally headed out at around noontime. The temp was 16 degrees. Brrrr… but the wind was not blowing so it felt like 20 out! smile emoticon

We hiked the snow mobile trail near Earl’s place. We covered between 4.67 and 5.26 miles depending on which mobile app you want to believe. I’ll believe Earl’s!

It was great to be outside enjoying the fresh air and the occasional exhaust from snowmobilers who graciously shared the trail with us.

It just occurred to me that I neglected to reward myself with a big mug of hot cocoa. Time to fix that mistake! Happy hiking!

You never know what you’ll see when you are out walking in the woods… er… below the power lines.

I keep forgetting how bright my coat is! HA HA

A day in New Orleans would be very nice after all the snow we’ve had here in Maine! But I don’t think I’ll hike that far!
